Procedure:

IT maintenance contract cancelled and IT accomplished by F&A techs

  • Savings: $18,018 annually….Vanessa Fortier/Ray Puskas/Tracy Clark

Office chairs are old but were revitalized by steam cleaning ($1,100) instead of buying new chairs ($4,000).…Savings $ 2,900 …..Greg Robinson/Dorothy Straight

Cancelled cell phones….$900 annually….Ray Puskas

Discontinued three (3) phone lines…$978 annually…Sandra Wheeler

POs not distributed via Merkur fax are printed directly to the receptionist’s printer to be mailed.  Previously POs were printed to a centralized copy room where someone would bring to the receptionist...Serena Bell 

  • Save labor-hours/interruption of buyers getting POs to the receptionist and speed up time that POs sent to vendors

Collaborative effort to reduce energy…Sandra Wheeler

  • Occupant turn lights out upon leaving office
  • Occupant’s co-worker turn lights out when occupant fail to do so
  • All common area lights remain off when room is not in use

  • Walk to meetings in research park and Physical Plant
  • Use the shuttle to go on campus when time permits

 

Resultant Savings:

Combined savings of these initiatives exceed $22,796.
