Assessment at UCF

All academic and administrative units at UCF are engaged in the assessment process and have developed mission statements, objectives, and outcome measures to assess and improve programs, operations, and services.  Assessment is conducted in response to many external drivers, such as the SACS Criteria for Accreditation, as well as the internal drive to improve.

Each department in the Division of Administration and Finance has an appointed Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator who is responsible for designing plans, collecting data, and creating and presenting reports to the University Assessment Committee.

Resources for Coordinators can be accessed through the Office of Operational Excellence and Assessment Support (OEAS).

Assessment Alliance

  • Assessment Coordinators: One individual from each department in the division of Administration and Finance who manages the assessment for their department, including data collection, writing departmental assessment plans, and reporting assessment results.
  • DRC (Departmental Review Committee): This oversight group assists the Assessment Coordinators by providing feedback for written reports and support to the Assessment Coordinators. The DRC consists of the Assessment Chair and Co-Chair of the division, and one or more individuals designated by the Associate Vice Presidents of the division. The Annual DRC Meeting will include the Associate Vice Presidents and the Vice President of the division.
  • UAC (University Assessment Committee): This group coordinates the assessment process for the university in collaboration with the Office of Operational Excellence and Assessment Support. The UAC reviews divisional reports for the entire university and presents on the university's assessment annually to the President.
